About these midi files...

These are a few MIDI files that myself and friends have made using Anvil Studio, a shareware program for the PC for midi sequencing. There seems to be a big difference in the sound depending on the program that is handling the midi file. I'm new to midi music so I don't know the answer to this problem. Depending on what program your browser uses to handle the midi plug-in, these files may vary.

Creating and Editing midi files

recommend
Anvil Studio - This is really an excellent Windows shareware program for creating and editing midi files.

Beatnik Editor - "The Beatnik Editor can be used as a standalone application for converting and combining MIDI and digital audio files into RMF format."

Playing midi files

recommend
Beatnik Player - The Beatnik Player is a great plug-in for sound on the web. Among many other things, it can handle midi files. Check out their site to learn how to sonify your own website.

QuickTime4 - Apple's QuickTime3 Plug-in is probably the single most useful plug-in you can get to extend the capabilities of your browser. If your browser cannot handle the midi files, download QuickTime from Apple. Works on both PC and Mac platforms.

Midi sites

Tune 1000
- They asked me to put a link up to their site. Why not?

Midifarm.com - Probably the most comprehensive midi sites out there.
